Social media has been a public platform to all and it includes different social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and so on. Social media has become toxic, not the software itself but the people who uses social media because there are lots of hackers and scammers nowadays and it feels like all people depends on social media. Since social media is already a public tool then all of your posts online can see by the people all over the world. Even though some of your social media accounts are private there are possibilities that some people will see it and will open it.
As easy as it is to share photos
online, it’s just as easy for people to steal them. As for me, I think that it
is not okay for me if someone might be able to grab or get my photos posted
online. Getting my personal photos online without my permission is an invasion
of privacy and a violation of right of publicity. It is dangerous because there
are lots of news nowadays those scammers invading other personal photos to use
them to sell or to endorse a product. Some will use it in the social media
dummy accounts and pretends to be you even if it is not. Some will use it in
sexual social media sites just to gain followers. In short, they will use it to
create false impression and injures your reputation. There is also a chance
your image could be used to make fun of you, show you in a bad light on
purpose, or be paired with cruel comments. It is also creepy when someone you
don’t know or some stranger will grab or get your photos online, it feels like
someone stalking you even if it is only a photo.
Sometimes social media is dangerous if
people are doing something bad or harmful and affect innocent people. Getting
or grabbing photos online without permission, taking pictures of people without
permission, stealing photos without permission, using someone’s photos without
permission are all illegal and bad actions. Everything you did without permission
is illegal and unethical and every person has rights and privacy. Social media
is delicate nowadays so be careful to those you are friends with, people you
follow and people you communicate. It is better to be safe than sorry and think
before you click.
